Reading a cashflow forecast

A forecast is a month-by-month illustration built from balances, income, bills and the assumptions you choose.

What the opening balance is

Aldoraun starts from the balances you have saved. It does not replay old transactions and add them on top. A future-dated event is included on its date.

If cash goes below zero, that is a shortfall. The forecast does not quietly invent a new loan to cover it.

Assumptions stay visible

Investment growth, inflation and future tax rules are assumptions. The selected tax year is named on salary calculations. Later years of a long forecast keep those rules only as an assumption, not as a prediction that Parliament will leave them unchanged.

A scenario stores a change, such as a pay rise or a pause in income. It does not rewrite the accounts underneath it.
